Interior Night is dedicated to developing interactive experiences focused on the emotional connection with characters and story to appeal to a broad audience and push the boundaries of what games can be.

Cinematic Artist - PreVis and Layout

Overview

We are looking for a candidate to join an exciting new studio that specialises in narrative games. The role’s primary function is to create high quality staging, blocking and camera work that makes the foundation of a successful shot and/or sequence of shots in the game. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to tell stories that matter and implement them from the heart to a high technical standard.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Translation of script breakdown into 3d previz

  • Animating and posing characters interpreted from real life actor footage and intelligently processing it into a previz sequence

  • Staging, blocking and camera work in 3d layout

  • Finessing of cameras to bring out animation and story.

  • Maintaining consistent quality, style and continuity, both visually and technically throughout the project.

Requirements:

  • Proven production experience within a team min. 3 years.

  • Accomplished examples of previz and layout.

  • Thorough knowledge of Autodesk Maya is essential.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work interactively with production and other departments to solve production challenges.

  • Strong critical reasoning and emotional awareness within storytelling is essential.

  • Strong understanding of cinematography, with a keen eye for composition

  • Experience with Unity timeline and Cinemachine is a plus.

  • Live Action Experience is a desirable but not essential.

  • The ability to self manage and be challenged creatively with a thoughtful collaboration with the larger team.

 

 

 

Cinematic Artist - Cinematography and Lighting

Overview

We are looking for a candidate to join an exciting new studio that specialises in narrative games. The role’s primary function is to work with the Cinematics director and layout artist to create a strong visual language in the game through the implementation of cameras and lighting. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to tell stories that matter and implement them from the heart to a high technical standard.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Previs Artist to translate and breakdown the script into 3d previz

  • Working with the Cinematics director to creating strong cinematic sequences that resonate emotionally with an audience

  • Staging and blocking out cameras within the 3D layout

  • Finessing of cameras and lighting.

  • Directing, editing and refining the narrative within the game engine.

  • Maintaining consistent quality, style and continuity, both visually and technically throughout the project.

Requirements:

  • Accomplished examples of directing and Cinematography

  • Thorough knowledge of Unity Timeline or similar cinematic tools

  • Strong critical reasoning and emotional awareness within storytelling is essential.

  • Strong understanding of cinematography, lighting, with a keen eye for composition.

  • Strong knowledge of Editing and Post production Software such as Premiere, After Effects or Final Cut.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work interactively with production and other departments to solve production challenges.

  • Live Action Experience is a desirable but not essential.

  • The ability to self manage and be challenged creatively with a thoughtful collaboration with the larger team.

  • Must have shipped at least 1 game in said role.

Senior 3D Environment Artist

Senior environment modeller to work on multiplatform console/PC title. Must possess a great eye for architectural form, vehicles and props, and all things hard-surface. We need someone whose approach is built on a sound knowledge of proportion and the construction of real-world objects. Needs to be able to model good quality assets quickly and for efficiently for in-game rendering on current gen (non-mobile) platforms.

Must be able to demonstrate:

  • Positive and team focussed outlook
  • 4 years plus console/PC games experience modelling environments, vehicles, props
  • Great Maya and Photoshop skills
  • Z Brush skills preferable
  • Knowledge of PBR materials and their use in Substance Designer/Painter
  • Full knowledge of baking all maps required for modern game asset
  • Capability to create high res/game-res models and understanding of full asset pipeline
  • Expert knowledge of in-game engines (Unreal 4 but preferably Unity)
  • Strong Portfolio with examples of high quality current gen games assets, including buildings, vehicles and props
  • Great teamworking skills and the ability to mentor less experienced team-mates
  •  Excellent admin and planning ability (when working with Production Team)
  • Willingness to take feedback
